Bed Bug Quarantine™

The Bed Bug Quarantine™ is a process we developed to isolate and ‘quarantine’ each sleeping area, keeping bed bugs from biting you while you sleep.

It is ideal for you solution if:

  • you suspect you have bed bugs but aren’t sure
  • you have noticed bites
  • you’ve been living with bed bugs and need relief
  • neighbouring units are reporting bed bugs.
  • your landlord is avoiding responsibility
  • you’re just really paranoid about bed bugs!

A traditional PCO bed bug treatment can take time to schedule and prepare for. In cases where landlords and property management companies have to coordinate approval, it may be days or even WEEKS before treatment actually happens. The Bed Bug Quarantine™ is for people who need help immediately, and are losing sleep or in a state of panic. What we do is minimize your exposure to them, by eliminating their access to you in your bed.

  • No matter what you do to eliminate them, it takes time.
  • This is something you can do right away.
  • The Bed Bug Quarantine™ takes roughly 3 hours, depending on your bed frame, number of beds, etc.
  • You do not have to leave.

STEP 1:
As their name suggests, bed bugs are most often found hiding in the bed. Using our high pressure dry-vapour steam unit, we will remove all bed bug activity in the sleeping area including the floor and bed frame. Then we encase your mattress and box spring with an impenetrable covering. **

STEP 2:
Next, we install a durable, low profile barrier (temporary, lasts 45 days or longer) to surround your sleeping area. Should any bed bugs be hiding in other places, the barrier will trap them as they move toward you. So, not only can they not reach you, but the barrier is also used to confirm bed bug activity in the room and helps with extended treatment efforts. Works with all types of beds.

STEP 3:
At this point, based on the type of bed bug activity found, we’ll help you decide whether or not more extensive treatment is necessary. Either way, you will be assured of a good night’s sleep. If you require Extended Treatment, we won’t leave until you’re 100% clear on the preparations required, and we are available for ongoing consultation.

Cost: $199 +HST. Each additional sleeping area is $149 (at same address).

** We offer three grades of mattress encasements: vinyl (included), non-stretch/puncture resistant $30 (per encasement), and bed bug tested and certified encasements for mattress and box spring, which are puncture-proof, water-proof, breathable, non-allergenic and come with a three-year warranty. (We always recommend these as they are the only covers that are designed to stay on permanently.)
